This is yet another Filofax planner agenda doodle featuring Mel.
He appears relaxed, friendly and polite while wearing his suit. He is placed over what appears like a geometrical background with rounded rectangles, inspired by 60s-70s aesthetics.
Mel is typically a bit cocky, so it’s a very pleasant surprise to see him appear so calm.
Facts about this piece
- Canonically, Mel feels more comfortable when nude than when wearing clothes, as clothes make his keys itchy and he doesn’t really understand the purpose of clothes – since he is mentally more instrument than person, which is why he is mostly drawn shirtless. When he wears clothes, like in this doodle here, he does it only to be polite and to act normal.
- Contrary to popular belief, Mel is not only from the 70s, despite being the most strongly associated with it in drawings. He existed as a human since the 40s, and he happened to have his lifetime’s peak in the 70s before being cursed to turn into a melodica (a literal object before Dogean aliens found him and turned him into a humanoid melodica).
