This is a comic that I drew for COBALTxSTRIKE AKA Cobalt because she made a very very amazing drawing of Mark for me on Art Fight.
I involved her OCs Mattias and Adrianna.
Adrianna, her sports car engineer with a blunt way of talking, because that’s the OC of hers that Mark snatched and lifted into the sky for no good reason (#silly_goose) in the drawing she had made, and Mattias because he looked really sexy to me – I am a big sucker for gangster men who have sideburns and it’s almost certainly visible by now.
I also brought my Emilio guy in the comic because, at the time, in 2025, I was shipping him with Mark for some time, and I thought it would have been hilarious to include him just to make him look dramatic and fruity about his boyfriend.
Cobalt’s attack
Cobalt, who on her Art Fight profile introduces herself like “I am an annoying amniote who lives on the third rock from Sol. I skin dead things for fun and basically just draw whatever the fuck I want” and also “I AM A FREAK! I AM UNIQUE!“, felt like my Mark OC is a “delightfully unhinged character”.
What she did with this thought was actually read into Mark’s abilities and design tips instead of just skimming, and make the attack I’LL SHOW YOU!:
When I saw this attack my jaw DROPPED.
I’m not sure if Coby is aware of it, but her attack GENUINELY is unlike ANYTHING ELSE anyone has drawn me for Mark yet (as of September 2026 while I am reposting this comic).
She made me feel seen with this drawing. She made me feel like me drawing weird shit characters makes at least ONE person out there smile and appreciate it when a character is a fucking FREAK.
Not only did she not try to change him or remove the weird parts, but she maximized the weirdness to the highest possible level imagimable, by using what Mark already has and PLAYING WITH IT by drawing Mark as the most autistic and weird balloon man thing ever who misunderstands a person’s words when she (her OC) said she hadn’t seen Miami from above and LITERALLY FLIES HER UP.
When I saw that attack back in 2025, I hadn’t felt this much seen in a VERY long time. Words couldn’t express how happy I was to see that someone actually saw Mark almost the same way I see him, with all the immaturity and stupidity and freakishness he naturally comes with since he was made.
So obviously, this motivated me to see Cobalt too.
Cobalt’s disappearance
Of course, after such creative interaction, I wanted to reach out to Cobalt. I saw that she had found me on Instagram and I followed her back.
Eventually, not too long afterwards, she unfollowed me.
I sent a message where I wanted to check on her and see why she had to leave, and that I wanted to stay in touch, and she left me on read.
I followed her on DeviantArt too and she didn’t do anything.
What’s the most heartbreaking conclusion out of this situation was that nobody is actually wrong here, and maybe Coby simply has different vibes, vibes that apparently don’t match mine.
Maybe, she matched the unhingedness just for a moment and later felt like we’re not actually similar and that she didn’t want to collaborate or go further with me.
I am a mature manchild now and simply think that, based on her art, from how to what she draws, and what she likes, she’s a bit less whimsical than me. She seems to like darker, more dramatic or intimidating things. That’s okay.
Or, she is in a bad mental state right now or doesn’t feel like making new connections, for personal reasons that I’ll never get to know because it’s none of my business. That’s okay too.
I’ll long to be artistically seen again like how she saw me, though. That I’ll admit.
Someone’s really going to see me one day, and decide that I am worth keeping around.
