Peeking Hans

This is art for a text-based RP titled Knight & Flight, one that I had been doing with a friend of mine called Maurice.

A long-forgotten character of mine, Hans, makes an interesting reappearance. Four of his 8 hands are shown as he moves through a futuristic doorway into what looks like a spaceship cabin. He is also smirking, with a glowing golden glow in his eyes and around his silhouette.

While I won’t disclose what exactly was happening in the scene this drawing is based on, I’ll say that Hans is walking inside one of the cabins of his mothership HMS Aeron while it’s floating through the space void in hyperspeed.

Retrofuturistic elements like glowing panels and rectangular sci-fi geometry are noticeable throughout the whole composition of the background and door prop design.

Facts about this piece

  • Hans is actually the democrator of Doge (like a dictator who listens to the people, like a false democracy). He controls the whole nation of the Dogean Republic on planet Doge (yes, that’s the unironic real name of the planet*)
*Not to be mistaken with Elon Musk’s Dogecoin! Not associated at all btw!
  • Hans is a literal GOD. He is a deity, one of the many of them created at the beginning of the universe. He was part of a Pantheon where each god had a universal purpose, and Hans was assigned to be the god of work and Excel. Having 8 arms is part of his existence as the god of work. He didn’t like this fate and escaped to Earth and then bought planet Doge, staying far away from the other gods.
  • Hans’ glow is golden because under his gas person shell, he has a glowing, godly form. Gold, as a color is also a symbolism for wealth, material possessions and money.
